Musical Director

Clare Langstone

Clare was invited to become Musical Director of Village Voices in the autumn of 2008 with a busy schedule of four singing events in the first term.  She has sung all over the world during 40 years of music making, under the baton of some of the world’s leading choral and orchestral conductors, notably Sir David Willcocks, David Hill and Simon Halsey.  Following a BA in Music and French, she has played clarinet professionally, developed successful teaching practices in clarinet, piano, flute and singing and is in demand as a piano accompanist.

In her spare time she has been playing the organ for her local churches for the past 15 years, has led community workshops in African singing, and in drama and singing for children.  She turned to conducting 3 years ago, forming a small adult choir which meets regularly to sing sacred music.  In addition, she has won several prizes as a solo singer, and enjoys organising fundraising concerts calling upon various musical colleagues.  Her teenage son is also a keen musician, a cellist,  and they enjoy performing together.

She is delighted with this new venture with Village Voices  and is looking forward to bringing  the joy of singing to more and more people over the coming years.

Accompanist

Barbara Peters has been accompanist to the Choir for many years.
She is the organist at Wasperton Parish Church and has sung for many years with the Leamington Spa Bach Choir.
